Date of construction: 1900

At 1308 Government Street was the Excelsior Saloon built for Dr. F. W. Hall in 1900 by noted Victoria architect Thomas Hooper. It is a very sparsely decorated building but does sport a decorative cornice brick cornice. It is currently the home to a bookstore.
